All 'Biographies' are listed here in the order that they were published. We aim to have an assortment of biographies of individuals who are Nordic or have a connection to the Nordics, and who have made an impact on Nordic and/or international society in the modern era. Our long term aim is to focus on those who are little known and to be inclusive.

Lone Scherfig (b. 1959)

Danish director Lone Scherfig went on to international acclaim following her breakthrough with the Dogme 95 film Italian for Beginners.

Poul Reumert (1883-1968)

Poul Reumert was a famous Danish theatre actor who also appeared in silent movies such as Afgrunden (The Abyss, 1910) opposite Asta Nielsen.

Poul Reichhardt (1913-1985)

Ghita Nørby (b. 1935)

The prolific Danish theatre and film actress Ghita Nørby is famous both for her lighter roles in film and theatre as a young actress and for her psychological character portraits in later years.

Nils Malmros (b. 1944)

Danish director Nils Malmros is known for his authentic depictions of the immediate environment of especially children and young adults. His aptitude for capturing the precise tone of language and physical surroundings according to his own recollection is noteworthy.
