Alexander Drost is an interdisciplinary historian and is Scientific Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for the Baltic Sea Region (IFZO), which is based at Greifswald University. He has taught, researched and written on various aspects that are relevant to today’s podcast including the maritime regions of the Baltic Sea and the southern Chinese region; he has also looked at the shifting boundaries of memory and culture in the Baltic Sea region.
